Update!
Aug 22, 2005
I have a new website. I will be using this one for the forseeable future.
Not much, just switched over to the big "combined" file that includes all four major net books. Enjoy!
I've added a couple minor things, including a link to my new weblog (yes, be very afraid... it's mostly political rantings at this point, though) and a PDF file version of the Player's Net Book. The PDF file is much more up to date than the online version. I found that using LYX was much nicer than keeping all these html files working with each other. The only problem is that writing the statistic blocks out is scary...
I swapped the second link bar's highlite text a bit. It should be a bit nicer now- primarily in distinguishing it from a "top" link.
Some content stuff got added and i also split the content page up into seven(!) separate pages. I might push races and classes together or something like that, but we'll see. I wish i had a database to enter this stuff into and then some server scripting to stick the numbers into a template and spit out the HTML... but alas, i must do it by hand (for now). Maybe XML would save me. I should look into that again. (As well as fixing that, XML might let me get a unified "date modified" thingy at the bottom- might pull the date modified thing out of all but the main page anyway. It might also make keeping a changelog easier. Or maybe i should just make the whole thing a wiki? Oh well...)
I added some to the character creation page, including a general outline of the steps of character creation. I'm now adding some content- primarily various skills and abilities. It's getting to the point where i think the next step is to either write up the rest of the content and have an actual game or go back and edit the stuff that i currently have (i still need to fix the skill/ability notations).
As i'm writing more, i think i might re-arrange some of the other stuff- but we'll see. My instinct is to combine a couple of the different pages because they go together, but i also don't want to have any pages too gargantuan to load. On the same note, i think the content page is going to be too gargantuan to load...
Updated the abilities and characters pages, working on character creation. I still need to get a solid terminology worked out for statistics/scores/abilities/skills too. It's rather annoying- and it's going to be annoying to go and change every reference once i finally work on out. Not much i can do about it now, though...
Minor updates, more rules, etc.
Edit: Added update date...
That's right, i'm starting the draft of the Player's Netbook. In other words, the thing what you read to figure out how to play. So far i have two of a hypothetical five chapters drafted up and am working on the third. Eventually this will likely be fleshed out into the full ruleset- along with the Game Master's Netbook, which will likely be a smaller "book" that deals primarily with the parts GMs need to know- ie, how to calculate experience earned from killing monsters. In a side note: I need to get a real name for this, but for now a ripoff of the D&D format will do...
